Confident Test-Taking Starts Here
“Optimism is faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.”
– Helen Keller
The Loudoun Test Prep Advantage
We take the dark mystery out of standardized testing. Our award-winning in-person test prep courses feature small class sizes (maximum of 6 students per class), which allow each student to receive the individual attention, personalized teaching approach, and flexible learning pace that are essential for mastery.

We GroupSmart®
Our unique GroupSmart® algorithm, the result from over 50k hours of analysis, uses machine learning and diagnostic test results to strategically group students by similar learning strengths and challenges. This ensures students are both challenged and comfortable, promoting confident participation and peer learning. No other test prep company offers such a personalized approach.

We have Exceptional Instructors
Our founder, Vinay Bhawnani, is integrally involved with Loudoun Test Prep. He insists on interviewing every applicant to ensure that each potential instructor meets our high standards for both subject mastery and emotional intelligence. Not all rocket scientists make good tutors.

We have Extensive Experience
When you have 60,000+ hours of tutoring under your belt, you’ve learned a few things. We’ve learned what resonates with students and what doesn’t. Our proven methods, including real practice tests and adaptive strategies, build confidence and mastery. Our efficient and effective classes follow our cutting edge curriculums developed from extensive tutoring experience.

We have the Smallest Classes
Our groups contain six students per class at most. We’ve found that a class size of six strikes the perfect balance of a small personalized environment and a classroom setting that ultimately encourages conversation and participation, both key components of success.

We Deliver Results
When students engage in our programs, they see improvements in both their scores and their confidence. On average, SAT scores rise by approximately 200 points, while ACT scores increase by around 4 points.

We have Fun
We’re more than just exceptional test prep tutors. We take our job very seriously, but we have fun doing it. Students have actually written reviews saying they had fun and made friends in our courses. We even fortify students with Skittles® and Starbursts® in every class to set the tone!

In-Person Small Group Test Prep
GroupSmart®, our secret sauce
After years of test prep and tutoring, we know it’s critical that students feel comfortable in their learning environment. We use our proprietary GroupSmart® algorithm to intelligently group students for our award-winning Small Group SAT/ACT Test Prep. It’s efficient and it’s effective. Students are in class with others of similar strengths and challenges. They confidently ask questions and learn from each other’s queries. No other test prep company does this.
On our registration form, you will select all times your student is available to attend class. Then, you will receive instructions for your student to take an in-person proctored diagnostic test (a full-length SAT or ACT, depending on the course you choose). About a week before classes start, we create and publish your student’s exact class schedule, which is based on test scores and your student’s availability that you entered at time of registration, as well as other information.

Stay Sharp Program
+$399 to Small Group SAT/ACT Test Prep program at time of registration*
Conquering the SAT or the ACT is a process. Most students who are applying to top tier colleges and universities will take these standardized exams two or three times. The majority of institutions of higher learning superscore the SAT and ACT. So it’s often in a student’s best interest to take the exam more than once to refine a particular section score.
Stay Sharp focuses on the three elements of test preparedness:
- Content review
- Homework help
- Practice test review
We’ve developed this program to ensure that no ground is lost between the completion of a Small Group Test Prep course and the SAT/ACT that the student then eventually takes.
* – If purchased separately, after registering for a Small Group SAT/ACT Test Prep program, the price will be $699.

Individual Tutoring Package
+$599 or +$1,199 to any SAT/ACT program*
Recommended for students struggling with either math or reading or both topics. Tutoring hours may be used for additional test prep or other areas such as ACT test prep or academic tutoring.
4 Hours (for students struggling with one topic) – $599
8 Hours (for students struggling with both topics) – $1,199
* – If purchased separately, after registering for a Small Group SAT/ACT Test Prep program, the prices will be (4) hours: $750 and (8) hours: $1500.
This option is non-refundable.
How It Works

Note: If your student has testing accommodations (IEP, ADA) of extended time through College Board, then you will enter this information during the registration process. While we are able to accommodate additional time, we are unable to accommodate the following: braille, large print text, screen reading technology, or scribes (oral dictation) at this time.
About Scores
Our goal is to maximize your student’s score based on your student’s ability. Because every student is different, with different starting points and aptitudes, we cannot guarantee any specific score improvements. We do our best to prepare each student in terms of topic knowledge, test-taking strategies, and test-testing endurance. Through these three vehicles, we tend to increase test-taking confidence and produce optimal results for our students.

Small Group SAT/ACT Test Prep Frequently Asked Questions
Is Small Group SAT/ACT Test Prep taught in-person?
YES! Our Small Group SAT/ACT Test Prep program is taught in-person at our facility. Please review our Covid-19 protocols below.
Is Small Group SAT/ACT Test Prep right for my student?
Given that we group students in classes based on scores (see GroupSmart® block above), our small-group SAT course is ideal for juniors/rising juniors (over the summer)/seniors who score between 900-1400 on a past PSAT/SAT or diagnostic test. Our small-group ACT course is ideal for students who score between 19 – 26 on a past ACT or diagnostic test. Students starting above/below those scores or who have not taken Algebra II yet, are typically better suited for individual tutoring. Feel free to contact us and we can help guide you.
Do you offer individual tutoring?
We also offer one-on-one test prep for the SAT/ACT. Learn more here.
How do I know whether my student should take the SAT or the ACT?
We answer that question for you right here.
How long is the Small Group SAT/ACT Test Prep program?
Our Small Group SAT & ACT Test Prep programs are 8 weeks long and include 32 hours of instruction.
How does the program/class scheduling work?
Please refer to the block on GroupSmart® above, and/our GroupSmart® page for details on how it works. If you have any additional questions regarding scheduling, please contact us. We encourage you to review our Logistics and Expectations page here.
Classes run for 8 weeks, 4 hours each week.
- SAT – 2 Hours Math, 2 Hours Reading/Writing
- ACT – 2 Hours Math/Science, 2 Hours Reading/English
We do our best to schedule Math and Reading/Writing on two separate dates. Again, the actual days/times are determined after registration based on student’s schedule, diagnostic test score, and other factors.
What is covered in the Small Group SAT/ACT Test Prep program?
Whether you choose SAT or ACT Small Group Test Prep, the program is designed to focus on three aspects of test-prep: Content, Strategy, and Test Stamina.
Content: From algebra and geometry to critical reading/vocabulary, grammar and essay writing, LTP offers in-depth coverage of every subject area tested on the SAT and/or the ACT (including science). Through review, remediation, and classroom teaching, our test-prep professionals thoroughly prepare all
Strategy: Standardized test taking is both a skill and an art. LTP instructors are expert at offering students insight into all the intricacies of successfully navigating these difficult admissions tests. We teach basic test-taking skills, incorporating proven tips, little-known techniques and straightforward strategies — all designed to foster confidence and outstanding test scores.
Test Stamina: LTP students not only receive unique instruction regarding test-taking skills and subject matter, they also learn how to survive a grueling four-hour exam. Loudoun Test Prep recreates the SAT/ACT experience as we offer up to three opportunities for taking full-length, in-person proctored practice exams that are scored, then reviewed.
What kind of score increases can we expect?
All students are different, and student outcomes are typically directly proportional to the amount of work and effort the student puts into the program. That said, we are proud to offer our average point increases below:
210 points: Average increase in SAT scores on new SAT.
4 points : Average increase in ACT scores on composite ACT.
We highly encourage parents to take advantage of the mid-program parent meeting, so that you can understand your student’s progress.
My student plans to take the SAT more than once. Do you offer any classes between exams?
Yes! We’ve developed a program called Stay Sharp to ensure that no ground is lost between the completion of a Small Group SAT/ACT Test Prep course and the SAT/ACT that the student then eventually takes. You can save $300 if you register for Stay Sharp during your Small Group SAT/ACT Test Prep registration process.
