Get the most out of your LTP Small Group SAT/ACT Test Prep experience.

Please thoroughly read the information below.

Schedule and Scheduling

Register Online

  • Complete registration form.
  • You will enter student availability for class, but it is not a guarantee of actual class times.
  • Your registration fee of $250 will be credited toward the course tuition.

Student Takes In-Person Diagnostic Test

  • Diagnostic test results help LTP place your student in a class with individuals of similar ability levels. More here.
  • We attempt to schedule these across two separate days per your availability selections.
  • We can use recent SAT or ACT scores, but those scores are for placement. Your student will still have to complete the in-person diagnostic test before class starts as we review the results during the first week.
  • Note: If your student has testing accommodations (IEP, ADA) of extended time through College Board, while we are able to accommodate additional time, we are unable to accommodate the following: braille, large print text, screen reading technology, or scribes (oral dictation) at this time.

LTP Emails Schedule

  • The Tuesday/Wednesday before class starts, you will receive an email with final class timings and additional logistics.
  • Please check your student’s schedule carefully for the correct timings.
  • Full payment is auto-billed on the Friday before classes begin using the credit card used on registration.
  • Once full payment is received, it is nonrefundable.  No schedule changes will be accommodated after full payment has been received.  Please refer to Payment and Refunds here.

Schedule Changes

If you have any changes to your student’s availability chosen on the registration form, you must fill out our SAT/ACT Class Availability Update form by the registration deadline. You can find it here.

Change Deadline

The class schedule is based on what you selected during the registration process (you selected at least three times on your form), along with diagnostic test results and several other factors.  Any changes to your original selections must be received by 5pm on the Sunday that is one week before the start of the first class.

Change Fees

Any schedule changes AFTER the schedule has been sent will be subject to a $200 rescheduling fee IF we are able to accommodate them, so please ensure you have filled out the correct availability for your student. Please see information on payments and refunds here.

Logistics

Registration E-mail

After registering, everyone should have received an e-mail (from info@loudountestprep.com) with further details about the program, including asking your student to schedule his/her in-person diagnostic test.  Sometimes this e-mail is flagged as Junk/Spam/Promotions.  Please check your appropriate folders if you didn’t receive it.  We can resend it to you if needed.

Diagnostic Test

We will send your student details for the in-person proctored diagnostic test – a full length SAT or ACT. If your student has taken the SAT or ACT recently, we can use those scores for placement, but your student will still have to complete the diagnostic test as we review the results during the first week of class. Scores for all class tests will be available on the first day of class. Note: If your student has testing accommodations (IEP, ADA) of extended time through College Board, while we are able to accommodate additional time, we are unable to accommodate the following: braille, large print text, screen reading technology, or scribes (oral dictation) at this time.

Publicity

Occasionally, LTP posts images and videos of our classes and students on LTP’s social media accounts. You hereby authorize LTP to capture and post images and videos of your student on LTP’s social media accounts. You may email LTP and ask us to remove any images or videos from LTP’s social media account at any time. Further, your credit card or debit card authorization is also verifiable consent that you are the student’s parent or legal guardian.

Arrive on Time

Please ensure that your student arrives on time for each class. We want to make every minute count!

Pick-up on Time

Please pick up your student on time.  To keep everyone safe, do not stop in the middle of the road.  Parents/students are solely responsible for managing travel arrangements. To keep a fun and interactive environment for students, parents will not be able to remain in the building during class or testing.

COVID-19

As both national and state COVID-19 restrictions have been relaxed, we have made mask wearing optional for both students and staff. If your student is ill, they should not attend class. If they attend class and are ill, we will make them wear a mask to protect other students.

COVID Info

Students Must Do Homework

Please ensure your student completes their homework for class and brings in all of their work. Do not assist your student with their homework – we need to understand where they are struggling.

In fairness to those who have completed their homework, students who come to class unprepared will be asked to finish the homework in a different room. We will not provide makeup classes for missed homework. If your student misses a week of class, they need to ensure they ask their tutor for the homework for the next class.

Come Prepared for Class

Please also ensure your student brings their LTP BINDER, pencils, and Laptop for each class.

Missing Class & Make-Up Classes

A major component of our success is the way in which we group students. This makes missing class and scheduling make-up classes very challenging for us. Online make-up classes will be available every Friday. Please read our Class Make-Up Policy here.

Full payment for the course must be received prior to the first day of class. Students will not be admitted to class if there is an outstanding balance.

Communication

General Communication

Your primary contact for any program question is Communications & Operations Director Cali Moorman (cali@loudountestprep.com).  If you contact her, please allow her at least 24 hours to respond. Note: We are closed on Fridays.

Student Feedback

As the course progresses, we will send out information about your student’s performance as needed via our website Discussion Thread feature. It is your responsibility as a parent or guardian to read, and if necessary, respond to these communiques. Given the size of our programs, we do not conduct formal parent meetings as we need to focus on teaching students.

Check-in with Your Student

By registering for this course, you are making a considerable investment in your student’s future. Please check in with your student frequently regarding homework, mid-terms results, and how they’re feeling about the course. The earlier we are made aware of concerns, the sooner we can address them!

Cheating Policy

One of the most important aspects of our teaching process is the continual feedback loop. This loop is created by giving students homework based on material presented in that class’s instruction.

Our expectation is that the student will complete their homework without the aid of parents, tutors, or other external materials (such as looking up the specific question online to obtain the solution via photo math or any other source).

Why is this important? If the student receives outside help, we cannot accurately assess where the student needs additional help and where they do not. In addition, after years of trial and error, we feel strongly that our teaching methods will produce optimal outcomes in the real test setting.

This may make more sense when considering a coaching metaphor. You hire a coach to teach your child how to hit a baseball. Another person at home teaches your child a different batting technique. Your child then strikes out at the game. The child received conflicting instruction, and was confused when at bat. We do not want this to happen on test day.

You are hiring us to be your student’s test prep coach. Please ensure that you allow us to do our job.

If your student is caught cheating, we reserve the right to remove them from the program without refund.

We use real SAT exams for our practice tests. Why? Because we want students to get comfortable with what they will experience when they sit the formal exam.

NOTE: When filling out your registration form, please be thoughtful when you check your student’s three (3) availability options. They play a critical role in our scheduling process, which is designed to take both your student’s availability and diagnostic test results into account.

Our tutor knew that my daughter knew the material, but somehow it wasn’t coming through on the practice tests. He worked backward with her to find the missing link. She began to see success on the practice tests before she took the real SAT. She went into the SAT feeling confident and her score went up 200 points!
