COVID-19 and LTP
We are most certainly living in interesting times. As for many of you, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused profound changes in our normal business operations.
The uncertainty associated with the ever-changing landscape of SAT and ACT scheduling has been a roller coaster ride for us all…not to mention the suspension of in-class school.
While we relish having the opportunity to work with your students in person, our high-quality video camera and streaming equipment is the next best thing. In these past months, we’ve refined all of our digital classes and have managed to recreate the highly interactive small group experience for which we are known.
We’ve developed our Stay Sharp program to keep students’ test-taking skills honed during SAT/ACT schedule delays, and are offering free full-length practice SATs to ensure on-going endurance to sit the full exam. We view this program as our mutual insurance for your student’s success, no matter what the College Board throws at us.
In addition, our one-on-one online tutoring is helping students stay on track with their coursework during nationwide homeschooling. In response to this unprecedented situation, we are offering our expert tutoring services at discounted rates, and at even further discounts when purchasing a package of tutoring hours.
And now, as we progress through the various stages of re-opening for in-person test prep and tutoring, we welcome you to make the best decision for your family: in-person classes or continued online classes.
Together, we’ll get through this. Smarter. More knowledgeable. Ready for whatever academic challenges confront us. Our students will not be left behind.
Vinay Bhawnani
CEO & Founder
For our summer programs, we will meet safely in-person, but students may elect to alternatively attend online in an interactive fashion.
Small Group SAT or ACT Test Prep
We are continuing with our award-winning Small Group Test Prep classes. They are now optionally in-person or online classes. Either way, both methods are highly interactive classes with give-and-take between instructor and student encouraged and expected.
In the event a scheduled SAT or ACT is canceled, we will provide Stay Sharp (see below) classes to bridge the gap until the next scheduled SAT or ACT is given. These classes will be provided at no additional charge.
Regarding Schedule for Summer Small Group SAT/ACT Test Prep
We know there is still considerable uncertainty about when we will return to “normal.” Following is our approach to summer:
-
- We are continuing with our award-winning Small Group Test Prep classes.
- We are now offering classes in-person. Concerned students may still join the class online if they prefer.
- Please review our policies for in-person attendance to ensure the safety of both students and staff.
Stay Sharp Program
We understand parents’ concerns about the potential cancellation of future scheduled SAT/ACT exams by the College Board. In the event that that indeed occurs, we have developed the Stay Sharp curriculum to ensure that ground is not lost between the end of a Small Group SAT/ACT Test Prep course and the next scheduled SAT/ACT.
We are offering this program (value $399) at no charge to our students who are enrolled in our SAT/ACT Small Group Test Prep course who subsequently have their SAT/ACT exam cancelled by the College Board.
Summer Jump Start
LTP is proud to offer our High School Jump Start Program for Summer 2020. These courses are designed to help students hit the ground running in the fall by preparing throughout the summer. AOS/AET Entrance – Summer Program
LTP is proud to offer our Summer 2020 AOS/AET Program for the 6th consecutive year. Students planning to apply to AOS/AET will learn how to navigate the CCTDI (California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory), STEM Thinking Skills Test, and CCTST-N (California Critical Thinking Skills Test) with age-appropriate verbal, math, and logic instruction that is specifically tailored to these admissions tests. In addition, students will learn important essay writing techniques that will both prepare them for the assessment and future essays.
