Program Expectations & Commitment:
The LTP ACT program is an intensive eight-week course designed to prepare students for the ACT. To maximize the benefit of the program, students are expected to be actively engaged (ask questions!) and focused in each class (no texting during class). We also expect students to complete their assignments on time and attend all classes. Last, students need a calculator for all Math sessions and practice tests.
Roughly 3-5 hours of homework will be assigned each week. We strongly encourage students to spread out the homework to 30-45 minutes a night rather than cramming the day before class.
We will proctor full-length ACT tests (~3.5 hours each) through the duration of the course. If your student is unable to take any of these tests, please let us know and we can make alternative arrangements. These tests are scheduled after Week #3, 5, and 7 of the course.
The goal of these tests is to help each student practice learned techniques and with familiarize themselves with real-time test conditions (duration, anxiety, format, etc.). These are not meant to measure incremental progress/score increases through the program.
We understand that at times, sicknesses/school/sports/personal commitments prevent students from attending a particular class. The course is designed with one extra session, so if your student misses one class, it will not affect his/her progress as long as they keep up with the homework. If your student misses more than one session or would like to supplement their program with individual tutoring, we offer discounted rates on private tutoring for program participants.
Please provide contact information (e-mail and cell phone) for you and your student. If there are any last minute cancellations/adjustments in schedule, we’ll need to contact them immediately.
We will also schedule a “mid-term” review with you (in person or on the phone) to discuss your student’s progress through the course. We will reach out to you directly during the fourth week of the course.
Please let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to working with your student.
